Leadership Guides

The 'guides' are detailed with specific duties.
Event Leader Planning Guide
(Master of Ceremonies)

1.    Be Pleasant.   You will be before the ladies at every turn of the event. Also you will be the first person to speak so be pleasant. The ladies have congregated to receive a blessing so don't hinder the Spirit with your attitude and demeanor.

2.   Promptness.   Be in your place on time and start promptly.

3.   Follow the Program.  Follow the program of each session set out by the General Co-ordinator. Have it printed out in detail to follow step by step.

4.    Speech.  Speak plainly and project your voice so everyone can hear you.

5.    Greetings.   Get the ladies to relax by greeting each other during each main session.

Greeting Tips: You can have the ladies in attendance do any of the following just to break things up and get a smile on everyone's face. Have them---

     - Turn to their neighbor, shake hands and say "I love you in the Lord!"
     - Turn to their neighbor, shake hands and say "I'm glad you're my sister in Christ!"
     - Give a hug to someone close by and say "God loves you and so do I!"
     - Turn around, shake hands and say "hello" three times to someone in the row behind you.
     - Shake hands with 3 to 5 ladies and say "God is in control!" to each of them.
     - You could make up any saying revolving around your event theme.

6. Decision Time.  Some of your speakers may have some type of decision time and some may turn the closing of the session back over to the Event Leader. Be prepared. You don't want to change the mood of the session abruptly especially if the speaker ends on a solemn note. Allow absorption time. If it is a closing session at the end of the event you may want to open it up to an altar call. But if you need to move on to another session take time for silence and quiet prayer time for the ladies in their pews before dismissal to the next activity. Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

7. Details.  Make sure you have a prayer said before meals and refreshments. Make sure you have gone over all parts of the program that you will be participating in with the General Coordinator. If you are to give announcements before and between events, whether you are in charge of giving out doorprizes, etc.
