Please pray for our ladies ministry. We have been meeting once a
month for the last 10 months . We have went from 8 women to 36 at our last meeting!! Praise The Lord!! My Pastor has decided that he would
like this meeting to include 13 year old girls and up. I really feel that
this should be for 18 year olds and up. Please pray that Gods will can
be done and not our own. Several of the Ladies have already stated
they will not come if the 13 year olds are allowed that they should be
involved in their own youth groups, That the ladies need this time
to be in fellowship without kids!! Please Pray for our Ladies Group!!
Always Be Blessed,Vicki |

Hey Nanagoose , our teens girls met on the same night we did , they picked the name TGIF , Teen Girls In Fellowship , they were led by the Pastor's daughter who was 16 . Maybe that's an idea to take to your Pastor . They got to take the Bible and study issues that were relevant to what was going on in their lives , while we did the same . ~ Nikki _________________ Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: |

Thanks Nikki,
I will take this to my pastor and see if there could be a
solution that could be reached with this idea. We have
really great youth Pastors to help also. Just keep us in
your prayers. I really don't want this to stop it has been
such a great ministry for our ladies.

I completely understand the feelings of wanting a mom's night out! For that reason I do not take my daughter to events (she is almost nine) and I provide childcare for ladies that can't come without it. However, bringing a 13 year old is not quite the same as bringing small children. Teenagers are self-sufficient and can do their own thing. I was a little unsure at first about opening our meetings up to the teenagers. One of our ladies put in perspective for me. By opening up the meetings to the young ladies, we are training them for when it is their turn to be Women's Ministry leaders. Our ladies were thrilled when the young ladies started coming. They felt they brought a new life.
God has obviously blessed your women's ministry. I will pray that this will not be a cause for division among your ladies. _________________ ~Jodi |

Thanks for the info. I really am struggling with this because of the age.
I have several moms who have 3 girls in this age group and they are
just so against it because they want this time for themselves. Also, we
have several women over 65 that really are not happy about this. I have
made several suggestions that we could all meet in unity and try this and
we did and it was a disaster. Some of these girls just wanted to giggle
at everything that was said. I want this to work for all of us so bad. I
just need you to pray really hard about this. We are having a meeting
Sunday and this will be the last chance for this to continue. I understand
both sides and want to work through this and not let anything hinder it.
Always Be Blessed,Vicki
Thanks for caring and praying!!! |

I will certainly be praying. If the young ladies are not mature enough then it certainly does distract from the meeting. I am praying that a good resolution is found! _________________ ~Jodi |

I was just wondering if your Pastor gave a reason for this decision?
Our group includes ages 14 & up as a way of training them for the future as Jodi mentioned, and they do bring some really fresh ideas with them that we have utilized! They have to sit with their mom or other adult instead of sitting together to avoid the giggles. We also have special "Time Out" for women every other month that is only for age 18 & older. This is more of a fellowship time rather than a planning time.
It's so difficult when you are dealing with all different ages. The younger ones think the older women hold them back, and the older women think the younger ones get in the way. Isn't it funny...men don't seem to have this struggle. They bring their little boys & teenage sons to all their meetings & we never hear a complaint.
I'll be praying that it works out according to God's plan.

Thanks everybody for you prayers!! I am so excited I couldn't
wait to share, The age group now will be 20 years and older.
The younger women in the group are going to have a teen
group with these young ladies from 13 to 19. This has been a real
battle for all of the ladies and I am so thankful a solution has been
reached. Our Pastor had a meeting with all of us and the teenagers
that wanted to come to our meetings and about 6 of the 11 girls that
were there could not be still without talking or popping gum. I think
this is what convinced him that the ladies just needed a different
time than them.He had to get there attention several times and He
wasn't to happy with them when it was all over.
Be still and know that I am God!!!
Thanks for all the advice you gave, It really helped me not to feel so
overwhelmed!! Vicki |
