Just wanted to praise the Lord for His watchcare and provision. About 2 weeks ago I got a sliver under my fingernail. I pulled it out, but it has remained tender. Last evening my finger started burning. When I looked at it, I saw that it was red and swollen and I had a red streak running up one side. I talked to a nurse friend and he said that I needed to get it checked immediately, not to wait. Well, of course in the evening you only have a choice between E.R. and a clinic. With no insurance, neither one is a good option. We tried our doctor's pager number, with no response. Finally, we decided to drive over to his house. (he used to attend the church my husband pastored, and we consider him a friend, though not close) My husband went to the door and the dr. came out, said he'd be glad to look at it. When he saw my finger, he said, "ooh, that looks wicked!" and told us to meet him at his office. He got me samples of an antibiotic (which is safe to use while nursing - another of my concerns) and told me that it should clear up quickly with the medicine. PRAISE THE LORD!!! He answered every one of my concerns: we don't have a bill to pay; we didn't have to buy an antibiotic; and I didn't have to stop nursing, which would have been very traumatic for all of us! What a wonderful, wonderful blessing! How I thank the Lord for a kind, Christian doctor who is so willing to go above and beyond to help. Just had to share!
