Hi everyone,
We are planning our annual Missions conference. Just wondering if anyone has any things they have tried that has made their event a extra blessing to the missionaries. We have about 3 missionaires coming. We always have an international lunch on Sat. this is where different nationalities from our church can cook a meal from their country as well as decorated a table with a flag or articles from their region. I would love your thoughts!

We do the international dinner also and it is always a great time of fellowship with the missionaries.

For the past 5 years our church started giving each missionary family that comes to the conference a laundry basket filled with things like, cotton balls, shampoo, small box of laundry detergent etc. If there are teens with them we get them a gift certificate to Walmart for $20. We also give the little ones toys that will travel well not big things. We add stationary and stamps etc.

We ask our folks to donate the items (we also ask them to purchase the items new) we don't want them to give them used items, after all this missionaries are giving so much to serve the Lord we should give them our best also and this way they feel like they have had a big part in helping the missionary family.
