| I am planning a retreat for ladies for late fall and would like to use the theme, "ITS A JUNGLE OUT THERE" referring to all the issues faced by women today. I would love suggestions and ideas to make this a sucessful retreat. I will be using animal print gift bags, tablecloths, napkins etc. |

Sounds like a fun theme! Sorry I don't have any suggestions for you right now but I will be thinking about it.

What a great theme. Let us know what you use for devotion, scriipture and other things. Sounds like a fun one to decorate, jungle animals and such. Please keep us informed. Thanks! *S*

I am a Retreat Coordinator in California (have been for almost 12 years) and we used this theme two years ago. It was GREAT fun - very relaxing and we were able to do lots of different things with it. The focus was keeping our eyes on Jesus. Our theme song was “Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord” and our theme scripture was Hebrews 12:2 and Hebrews 4:6.
We always provide gift bags for the attendees and for this theme we chose a simple white sandwich bag and I printed the theme with a picture on each bag with an ink jet printer. The ladies really liked that. Some of the things that were in their "Safari Kits" were: Animal Crackers, Bottled Water, Gummy Bears / Worms, Pen, Pocket Tissues, Insect Repellant (Skin-so-Soft)
It would take a HUGE area to tell you all we did, but we divided the ladies into different groups and gave them "Tribal Names" and a each group had a Safari Guide. Each Safari Guide received a special "Thank you" Bag which included a Safari Hat, Flashlight, Trail Mix & Water. We knew who the Safari guides were going to be way before the retreat and some of them brought their own items to set them aside such as tribal walking sticks. The opening night we did 5 different stations which we used as team building to get them to know each other. We carried the theme through the end of the retreat. It was a great success.
