The Salvation's Plan of Christmas (A Simple Object Lesson)
Julia Bettencourt
1. Bell or Trumpet Cookie.
Long ago the birth of Christ was heralded by the angels and the news rang out that Christ was born!
"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:10,11
2. Stocking Cookie.
God gave Christ as our gift from Him. He loved us so much that he wanted to fill our stockings with love and give us the gift of Heaven. It is only through Him that we have salvation.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8
" John 3:16
3. Christmas Tree Cookie.
Christ loved us so much that he was born that He could die for us on an old rugged tree to take away our sin.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
4. Candy Cane Cookie.
Christ endured the suffering of the cross, was beaten, and shed his blood for us.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
Isaiah 53:5
5. Snowman Cookie.
If we receive Christ and confess Him as Lord, our sins will be washed whiter than snow.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
" Romans 10:9,10
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18
5. Angel Cookie.
Even the angels in heaven rejoice when one person accepts the gift of Christ and eternal life.
"Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Luke 15:10
