Hi, I just wanted to share about an event that we had today. It was called "FaithLift" and was a Saturday Seminar. Ladies came between 8:30 and 9, when they had breakfast. Then, we had P&W at 9:30, followed by a door prize, prayer, and brief into. We had a session of four seminars to choose from at 10. The second session was at 11. Lunch followed, then there was a special musical guest, a keynote speaker. At 2, we had the third session classes, followed by the last set at 3. We came back together at 4 for evaluations and a final door prize.

Our seminar topics include "Italian Cooking with Flair" where we did a cooking demonstration of five items, which they then ate, Getting through the toddler years with a MOPS director from another church, single parenting, blended families, home decorating on a shoestring with a church member who is a decorator, home organization with a "professional organizer," Beauty 101 with a local esthetician (sp?), Surviving the teen years, scrapbooking with a lady who owns the local scrapbooking store, women in leadership with our children's pastor, messages we give our kids, caring for aging parents with a hospice director, being a godly wife with two pastor's wives, quesions about homeschooling, women's health with a local OB/GYN and how to study the Bible. Most of them did the speaking as volunteers because (a) they were from our church or (b) it would give them publicity and/or business. We did give the ladies outside of our church a nice gift bag of goodies.

It was well attended for a church our size, I suppose, although we think that it will be a much better crowd in the future, if it becomes an annual event. The ladies had a fabulous time, and were very positive about it. There were a few from other churches who said that they'd invite their friends in the future. It wasn't denomination specific, which made them feel more comfortable, and they wished that other ladies from their churches had come.
