| Hi Ladies. My Pastors wife is looking for ideas for a christmas play. We are a small church with maybe 15 or so children who will participate. Everything that we have found so far is geared more for larger churches. I know that a lot of the ladies here are from smaller churches too. Could you share some ideas of what your churces have done? Right now I am working on a musical. Its called a Christmas star. Where a star learns how to worship. Some of my friends have used a great little plays that are by Group publishing. They have a few and they have a small amount of kids also.
God bless

Hi Annette!
Are you looking for a play or a musical? Or maybe just pageant style ideas (poems & readings with a few songs)? Also, what age range? If I had more of an idea of what you want I might be able to help. I've directed children's programs for years, so I have a lot of resourses lying around here.

Hi Stacey,
We are looking for a play. Our Children range from 3-12, with most being 1st. - 3rd. grade. We also have youth, grades 7-12, but most of them do not like to participate in plays. We need something very simple that does not require a lot of props, or at least props that are easy to make. I hope this helps. I would really appreciate any ideas you may have.
God Bless,
Annette |

Thanks, Annette...that helps me a lot to narrow down my search. I'll take a look through my stuff & see what I can find that would fit this need.
I'll get back to you soon.

Hi!!
I go to a very small church and last year we did a program I ordered from Close Encounters Ministries called Once Upon A Christmas Cheery... A Night To Remember. The programs from this company can be used in large churches but it is layed out in such a way that a very small group can do it because you can take out parts that you don't have enough people for which is what I did. It is also great because no memorization is required (only if you want to). Our church loved the program and it had such a wonderful meaning. If you want more info, feel free to pm me. I enjoyed doing the program so much for Christmas that I also used their programs for VBS.
Hope this helps you -- it sure helped me!!
