Hello everyone!!!
I'm starting to plan my October Ladies Night and am wanting to focus it on Breast Cancer Awareness. I've got a lady from our small town here lined up to give her testimony about her bout with breast cancer. She is such a dynamic lady and was always the one who blessed you when you would ask how she was doing!!!! I know she'll be wonderful!!!! My plan is to do this on a Saturday morning and have all the food items be PINK! I've also got a few door prizes that relate to the "pink ribbon" used in Breast Cancer Awareness.
I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas of some things I could do during this time that would be educational for the ladies or some fun game that might fit in with the theme...........
Thanks for any help you can give. _________________ "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isa. 40:31

If you want to add some education to your evening, the American Cancer Society has a short video ( about 10 minutes) on Breast Cancer Awareness, teaching the ladies how to examine themselves. They also have a breast model that has different size "lumps" in it that the ladies can touch and feel what an abnormal "lump" feels like. I have boworred these from our local society when we have held health fairs. Everyone doesn't have local societies and if you don't, you may be able to borrow these items from your local hospital's Mammography department. You can also get the shower hang tags that demonstrate how to do a breast exam while in the shower to hand out to the ladies.
You can also check out their website, it seems to me they have educational print-outs that you can use for hand-outs.
Good Luck, this is a very much needed education. _________________ If one falls down, his friend can help him up...Ecclesiastes 4:10 |
