|

I wrote this the other day.
I found all this wonderful information on another thread.
I put it this way so someone might read it (since it's new)
and give me some suggestions. Thanks
| Quote: | Would you believe I just got on here to ask about some ideas for our ladies fellowship and it's "The Kings Daughter" (which of course is a princess) all built around being a "Child of the King".
I was going to ask for some songs that would go along with this
and some game ideas.
Pretty much have the decorations worked out but would love to hear any ideas, and any particular scriptures that come to mind that we can use (we will be putting scriptures on the placemats...so maybe there are some I have missed)
I will accept any advice, and someone is coming to speak about a mission project and give her testimony, but a short devotion would be great if you have one in mind.
Anything???? |
| Quote: | I'm coordinating a Spring Brunch for our church on May 8 with the theme of "You're a Princess" and focusing on the fact that as children of the King, we are princesses. We have both girls and women attend. I'm looking for some type of ice breaker that a) requires everyone to interact, b) can be started as each guest arrives (i.e., not timed, not a team), and c) has some sort of a "princess" theme. I came across a "Who am I?" ice breaker where the name of a famous person is put on a label and stuck to your back, then you have to go around asking questions to try and figure out the name on your back. A good idea but I can't think of many "princesses" that everyone would know (not just royalty but fictional like Snow White and "divas" like Celine Dion). Guess I'm asking for either an ice breaker idea or "princess" names. Thanks.

| Quote: | We had a similar theme years ago, and also were in question about using the princess theme. But, we did and it worked out very well. We made all the mothers attending, a queen, and all the girls were a princess. We did the names on the back of the people, but it was names of ladies/girls attending our tea. So the nametag would read "Queen Betty" (just an example). Several weeks before the party lots of interviews went on finding out information about everyone. A ballot was prepared, and at the tea they had to match up the items on the ballot with the different queens and princesses. It was fun. We made little crowns for the princesses, and the queens were given one red rose.

Ladies,
I went to a yard sale and found a package of "Reserved" cards like you use at a wedding. (Good deal too, only 50 cents)
Anyway,
It says "Reserved" on the outside and
I printed inside them:
"...an inheritance...that does not fade away reserved in heaven for YOU!" 1 Peter 1:4
I will place these at each table setting.
This is getting to be lots of fun...searching for stuff.
But I still need ideas.
Anyone??? |

The one Scripture that comes to mind is Ps 45:13: The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
I think I posted some other ideas in repsonse to the other threads on this topic. One was to use the little bottles of bubble stuff that is used at weddings (here, anyway) for favors. If you look around craft places like Michael's, they have a lot of wedding-y stuff out that you could use or get ideas from. I think I saw a bunch of little tiaras at Michael's, but they might be cheaper at Wal Mart. |

Oops -- I think I was getting this theme mixed up with another about the bride of Christ. Sorry! |

Thanks Ladies.
That was an awesome verse! I will definatly use that.
I am familiar with that hymn, and have been "singing" it since we began planning this! lol
So, we will also definatly sing that!!
We have had to change the date, put it back one week, so this means I have another week of planning time!! Yipee!!
So, any more great ideas, there's still time!! Thanks!
ps...was wondering about the bubbles there for a moment!!
Although I did see this neat little bubble machine at walmart for only $15 and wondered how I could use bubbles! heehee |

Ladies,
I wonder if anyone can help on this.
I was thinking, in keeping with the "princess" theme...
the gospel has all the makings of a fairy tale story which could be read at the banquet.
(Please don't misunderstand this...I KNOW the gospel is NOT a fairy tale, and not what I am implying)
I was just thinking...
a princess in distress (we are all sinners)
an evil villian (satan)
a prince to come and save her (the prince of peace - Jesus)
His kingdom where he would take her (heaven)
And they live happily ever after......
I'm sure someone else has thought of this before...
is there a story out there somewhere I could get my hands on
or one of you talented ladies out there want to take a stab at writing something up quickly?
Just a thought.
Thanks. |
