I was just popping in to tell Julia that I used her "Ornament for Christ" devotion at my ladies meeting the other night and Voila! I find this neat message board! What a nice surprise!

I am a Baptist pw in MI, have 3 children - 22 yr old son in Bible college, 20 yr old daughter in Bible college and an 18 yr old daughter who graduated from home school and just returned from a Summer missions trip to Brazil. I have been married for 23 yrs. Hubbie & I did youth ministry for the first 13 yrs and he has been pastoring for the past 10.
I love what we do and couldn't imagine doing anything else!
I love to cook & bake, especially for guests in our home and large banquets. I love flowers. Enjoy reading and doing anything computer related.
Hope to get to know some of you in the near future!

Hi, Startrek! Welcome from another Michigander! I'm a Baptist PW in mid-Michigan, kind of between Saginaw, Flint and Lansing. Whereabouts are you? (If you don't want to say on the board, you can PM me )
My DH and I have only been married 9 (almost) years; we got started a little late. My husband was almost 33 and I was 25 when we got married. We have a 7 year old son in Christian school in Saginaw.
It's always nice to meet another pastor's wife, especially when we're practically neighbors!

Hi Bethany and Jodi!

We are actually in Ionia - that is right between Lansing & Grand Rapids.
I am sort of familiar w/ the Lansing & Flint areas. My Father in law pastors in Flint and we know the Greens at Parker Memorial Baptist in Lansing. Then we have another Baptist preacher friend who pastors in Holt. We actually have preacher friends all over MI as dh is a graduate of Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac and a lot of the grads from there are pastors in MI. Both of hubbies brothers are Bapt preachers too - one up in Boyne City and one out in Mass. Then he has 3 sisters - one married a Bapt preacher, one is married to a Bapt missionary in Brazil and one is still at home taking care of her Daddy who is recovering from a debilitating disorder called GBS.
If you let your imagination run wild - you can just imagine what our family get togethers are like! LOL They're LOUD I'll tell you that!

Anyway - nice to meet you Both! Looking forward to making some new friends on here.

Talk about a small world! My dad and brother both graduated from Midwestern! Your husband probably went there somewhere in between the two, but may have heard the name "Evilsizer". My dad has spoken in chapels at different times. He graduated, I think, in 1963, and my brother graduated in '86. Dad is good friends with Dr. Eugene Kimmel, another Midwestern grad and a missionary to the deaf. He's pretty well known in MI - do you know him?
I bet if we talked we'd come up with a lot of people we both know!
What church does your FIL pastor in Flint? My dad used to pastor in what was Auburn Heights - it's either Rochester Hills or Auburn Hills now. Now he pastors First Baptist Church of Lewiston.
Right now we're attending Community Baptist Church of Shields (Saginaw) where Dr. Douglas Jackson is the pastor. It's a great church, a good place to be while in between ministries; we get to hear some good preaching and relax a little bit!

Bethany - I'm sure my hubbie knows your family. The name is familiar to me but I have never had the opportunity to meet them - although our paths may have crossed at a MBC function.
Yes - I know - Gene Kimmel! He is an old family friend! He came here a couple years ago to do an advanced ASL class for our signers!
