I have been asked to speak on being a pastors wife. Unlike the other post on here, I will be speaking to our ladies and not other pastors wives. This is difficult for me because I can think of all kinds of things I could say to other wives, but there are many things I would never say to my own church ladies Any good ideas out there? The topic I was asked to build around is "Life as a Pastors Wife"

I think she might be referring to this article that Bramblerose had posted in another post.

Oooo, that's a hard one. It really is hard to put it into words.
One thing I like about being a preacher's wife is that, just the fact that my husband is a minister, it has been a real encouragement for me in my walk with the Lord. Before he was called as pastor, there were days that spending time with God didn't even cross my mind.

Another thing is watching your very own husband standing before the church and just knowing that he is a man of God. It took me a while to separate my husband from my pastor, but it is a neat relationship. I will be the first to admit that I wish I could spend more time with him, but the time he spends at the church is for the Kingdom of God and I know that he stands for what he believes in. I really am proud of him! There is never any question on Sunday morning if he is going fishing, or to a football game, or to church-I know some women who go from week to week not knowing if their husbands are going to support them in their effort to be there and have their family there.

Also, when your family goes through a difficult time like a death or sickness, the church is always there to support you and pray for you. I wish I could describe how encouraged I was by my church family when my mother died. Sooooo many cards and calls and I could just feel the prayers.

I'll add one more thing. We recently were called to a new church and were really sad to leave our old one, but knew it was God's will. Some of the friendships I formed at the first church and now at this one-I just feel soooo blessed. Such dear friends-true friends you know are there for life no matter what. We have been fortunate enough to have not been forced out (yet ) I trust that the true friends I have made will always stand by us.

It's a step of faith to respond to being called to a new church in another city, state, maybe even country, but it's one that only we as pastors' families can understand and truly realize that God's got it all taken care of-even if we aren't always sure about it.

Hope this helps, Good luck as you speak Tues.
