I posted just a few times on the old boards before the technical problems caused the boards to have to be started over. I waited a bit before trying to registar again, trying to come up with a different username. (I found "Bramblerose" on a "Hobbit Name Generator." My real name is Barbara). But I couldn't come up with anything, so when I did try to log in, I kept getting to a page marked "Invalid session." But, I tried it again tonight, and -- voila! -- for some reason it worked! (Julia, if you see this, no need to answer my last e-mail. )

A little over 2 years ago, our ladies group was reorganized with a wonderful lady at the helm. When she and her husband moved away due to a change in his job, I was asked to take the ladies' group. I am much more comfortable as a right-hand assistant than as "the leader"......but God has been gracious!

We are really too small just now to have officers, but I would like to get to that place eventually. I have been in some ladies' groups that are "all business," as in a women's missionary group, and I have been in ladies' groups that are "all fellowship." Ours combines the two. We do have a missionary emphasis, but we also do just-for-fun things sometimes like going bowling (and none of us are skilled bowlers, so it's a riot.)

I have been enjoying reading the posts and am looking forward to being able to jump in. now that my system has let me register.

Glad you were finally able to get things worked out and jump back in. I am new here but love the advice, ideas, etc I find here.
Our group is similar to yours in that we try to combine "business" and "fellowship". When I first organized the ladies we were in desperate need of fellowship and getting acquainted with one another beyond the brief nod and handshake before and after church. At the same time we needed to look beyond ourselves and see the needs of others. So we combined the two areas - we came together every month to make things for various outreach agencies in our area. It was great because we were doing something for others but at the same time the casual atmosphere allowed for chit-chat and getting acquainted.

Anyway, sorry to be so wordy, but glad you are here.

Hello Bramblerose,

So glad you were able to register after all. I tried to find out what the problem was. Next I was going to have you make sure your 'cache' and temporary internet files were cleared before you tried. I couldn't come up with anything else but I'm so glad you were able to get back on.

We are still having trouble with some of us not being able to log in correctly the first time and have to try twice sometimes. I'm still working on finding out what is causing that.
