Hello everyone.
I'm a new girl! I just found this wonderful site last night. The Lord was certainly directing my wee mouse as finding you ladies is a real blessing. I'd better introduce myself. I'm "Allena" and I live in Banbridge, Northern Ireland. I'm married to my darling David, and we just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last month. We don't have any children, but we do have 2 black and white cats who we love dearly. I used to be a secretary at the Queen's University of Belfast but am now, to my joy, a full time housewife and home-maker. My husband is a computer engineer by profession and, by calling, a local preacher. (I think you call them "lay" preachers in the USA?) We're both leaders in our local Methodist church and have the priviledge of hosting a House Group in our home every week. I was diagnosed as suffering from Multiple Sclerosis in March of this year, but am determined to have a positive confession in all things, so we won't dwell on that! I enjoy quilting, craftwork, cookery, reading, bible study and ... oh lots more. I look forward to chatting and getting to know you. Thank you Julia for this beautiful site. Best wishes from Ireland. _________________ Allena

Welcome from Michigan in the USA! So glad you found us here and decided to join in. It's always exciting to meet people from all over the globe, especially when they're believers in Jesus Christ.
I hope you'll stop by often and have some good fellowship with us! _________________ God bless,

Welcome!
I have always wanted to come to your country. I am excited to see another quilter here!
I just learned last year but REALLY enjoy it! My sister is a quilt designer. She designed and made a pattern for a cute wall hanging called "Sweet Autum Treats" I will be testing it for her soon. I'll let you know how it looks if you like.
I will also be praying for your MS. I have a similar health issue, Fibromyalgia and Rhuematoid Arthritis, but praise God both seem to be in remission.
God bless and keep you _________________ ysiHn&l;

Oma, I also have fibromyalgia. Since we left our last church, it has been MUCH better (reduction in stress, I think ), but I started working at a daycare and it has begun to act up again. (more stress, just different )
It's nice to know others with the same disease, so you can encourage one another. _________________ God bless,

Hi there Bethany and Oma,
Many thanks for your warm welcome. I appreciate your prayers re my health and shall reciprocate in kind concerning yours too! I'm also in remission at the moment so everything in the garden is rosy. Oma, it's great to meet a fellow quilter here! Another fabric nut?!?
Sorry this is so brief but our House Group meets tonight and I need to go vacuum up all the black and white pussycat fur from the hall carpet. I have a red carpet, so you can just imagine!!! Blessings to you both. _________________ Allena

For what it is worth I would be happy to share what I have done (besides prayer) to actively attack my fibro. When it started I did not have health insurance so I did A LOT of research. I have also begun taking a health supplement that has helped by flushing the toxins from my system. If you are interested just drop me a note. theoma@intergate.com _________________ ysiHn&l;

Welcome to you....
sorry, I'm a little behind in my "hello's".
My husband's family originated in Ireland.....my husband's brother (who is in the Army...as are we) is currently stationed in Germany and before they leave Europe, they are determined to visit your fair land.
Of course, he's got to get back from Iraq first. _________________ Colossians 1:27 ...."Christ in you, the hope of glory." |

I'll be praying for a safe return of your B-I-L.
Allena - Yes I am a card carring fabric-o-holic. It is terrible! I had excaped this addiction for 46 years. Then last year my sister taught me how to quilt! I just got back from NY (my nephew, her son, go married). While there we went to her favorite Quilt shop. I spent 45 dollars! on fabric for two dresses for my grand daughters. It is absolutely beautiful but I am still reeling
Maybe we can start a topic on quilting too
Take care and God bless you _________________ ysiHn&l;
