I'm having our Women's Ministries Anniversary Banquet in October. My theme is Picture Perfect. The devotional topic will center on being content in every situation. I have the favors - small framed pictures displayed on an easel.

Does anybody have suggestions for the table centerpieces which I will also use as door prizes?

Any creative ways to give away the door prizes - such as the lady with the most pictures in her purse?

Thanks for your help!!

First...are those your boys in the photo there?
They are adorable!!

Okay....centerpieces.
By the way, great theme.
My first thought was gift baskets with scrapbook supplies but that would be a big expense...and not everyone is into scrapbooking.
You could do that and have a drawing...for just one or two. Then, only those interested would put their names in for the prize.

Your centerpieces could then be anything---cameras, film, photo boxes, photo albums, picture frames----all neatly displayed.

If you are set on centerpieces as doorprizes---maybe, one "perfect" rose in a vase.

I'll think some more...........

Yes, those are my very precious sons! That picture is about 2 years old though. We're going to get new ones this year. They are such a blessing!!

Thanks for the great ideas!

Yes, I would like to give the centerpieces as door prizes. I thought of using some framed prints- Kinkade would be great but unless I can find a really good deal that will be too pricey.

Thomas Kinkade puzzles?
Less pricy, still beautiful.

Or a framed mirror. (be content with YOU...perfect creation of God)

Or...hmmmmmm....
A gift package with a disposable camera and prepaid film development?

Two ideas....
First--an oldie but goodie baby shower game-----have a selection of volunteers bring in baby photos of themselves....
No more than 10.
Post those photos on a display (something you can pass around the room if needed).
If your group is large, have the 10 ladies who belong to the photos stand up.
The game is to guess who belongs to which picture.

Second--a silly game.
Give everyone a blank piece of paper and make sure they all have a pencil/pen.
Tell them to close their eyes and follow your instructions....they are going to draw a picture.
The instructions I have are for a certain scene, but you can have them do anything. This is a soothing, beautiful tropical scene.....(keep those eyes closed and picture it in your mind as you draw).
Begin by drawing a small island in the middle of the paper (if awarding points at the end, 10 pts. if it's in the middle).
To the left of the island, draw a ship in the water (10 pts. if it is left AND not touching the island.
Put some fish in the sea. (15 pts. if they draw more than 2 fish)
Place a palm tree on the island (20 pts. if the tree is ON the island).
The sky is beautiful and blue...put some birds in the air. (20 pts for more than 2 birds)
Eyes still closed???
Somebody got that ship to the island--put a sailor on the ship (20 pts. if he's ON the ship and not swimming).
Don't forget food...draw some coconuts on that palm tree. (15 pts. for EACH coconut actually ON the tree).
The sun is shining in that beautiful, blue sky, draw the sun (20 pts. if the sun is to the left; 15 pts. if it's to the right; 10 pts. if it's in the middle)
Open your eyes.
Does it look like the image in your mind?
(if using points, go thru those now...NOT while you are doing the drawing!!.... give prizes to the one with the most and least points)

Framed greeting cards!
I have done this with two or three cards that have a print of a more expensive painting that I like (Forgiven is the one that comes to mind). I know Kinkade is used on cards and you could pick up inexpensive frames.

You may also be able to find cards that have verses on the front that match your theme.

I think what I'm going to do is use a combination of puzzles and prints. I have some Kinkade dealer cards that I'm going to frame like Deb said. Then they will have a choice. Those who don't enjoy doing puzzles will be able to choose a picture instead.

I'm also going to use the baby photos game.

Ladies, I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your suggestions for my banquet. It was a great success!

I had 34 ladies to attend which was a record. I was thrilled and I think that all my ladies had a great evening. I get the impression that they would like to do it more often.

Thanks again! You are a blessing!
