Do you have any family favorites in soups, stews or hot drinks for Autumn/winter? Its almost here and I love Autummn! White chili, Minestrone, turkey noodle soup are some of my favorites. What are yours? _________________ Anna

We have a soup recipe that my family simply loves. It is called Golden Cheese Chowder. I have it on our family website if you'd like a copy.
God bless you all and have a great autumn.

One of my favorite soups is potato. I never make it though.
Being in Florida it doesn't really get cold enough for soups until almost Christmas. By then we are busy with the holiday foods.
I do make chili sometimes, don't have a recipe to share though because it is a little of this and a little of that. _________________ Jodi

I forgot to say in my other post...I checked out that recipe for Golden Cheese Chowder and it looks so yummy! On one of our 3 days of cold weather this winter I will have to try it out! _________________ Jodi

That soup does look good! Potato soups are my favorite, especially if they include cheese. Mmm-mmm!
This a favorite recipe of my family's. Although it doesn't include cheese, it's great served with cheese and bacon sprinkled on top.
Baked Potato Soup
1/4 c. diced onion
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1 qt. milk (or I use 3 c. of milk and 1 c. of cream or half and half)
2 chicken bouillon cubes
2 Tbsp. minced fresh parsely (or about 2 tsp. dried parsely)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
1/8 - 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
6 medium baked potatoes
chives, shredded cheese and bacon bits, optional
In a 3 qt. Dutch oven or kettle, saute onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk; cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Add bouillon, parsley, salt, seasoned salt and cayenne. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cube half of the potatoes - skins on - and mash the other half; add all to the soup. Simmer for 20-25 minutes or until heated through. Garnish individual servings with chives, cheese and bacon bits if desired.
Makes 8 servings (2 qts.) _________________ Sharing Jesus' love with you,

With all your hot weather, you probably need cold soup recipes, huh, Jodi! Unlike us Michiganders, who can use all the hot food we can get! _________________ Sharing Jesus' love with you,

| I love turkey bone soup after Thanksgiving. Take the turkey carcase, boil it, remove it, skim or strain the broth, add rice, veggies, and turkey meat, simmer til done. |
