I am in the process of planning a scavenger hunt but, have never planned one or attended one. Does anyone have ideas on how to do this?

Hi! What kind of scavanger hunt are you planning? I have done several, from the mall scavanger hunt, where you have teams that have to dress up a certain way and take poloroid pictures and first team to finish the list wins, and I have done a poloroid scavanger hunt, where you split up in cars and have to do different things, like go to a football field and build a human pyramid and take a picture of it. I know this may be confusing, but I can give you more detailed instructions if you would like, just let me know! Good Luck!!!

I have done scavenger hunts with the youth before and how we done it was we divided them up into teams and an adult would drive them from house to house and they would have a list of 20-25 items that they had to bring back, whoever got back first with all of the correct items was the winner. The kinds of things we would put on the list is: coton candy stick for the football field, a mans size 13 shoe, 1/2 of a leg of someones pantyhose, a 1973 quarter. I hope this helps.,

when I was in youth, we had a neat way of doing scavenger hunts. The leaders would find verses in the Bible that may have several items in them. I wish my bible was sitting right here beside me so I could look one up and give you an example. But even like "John 3:16"

For- maybe find 4 of something
God-bible
so-a needle or thread
loved-something heart-shaped or diamond ring
the
world-globe or map

You get the picture, anyway. We would get awards for how creative we could be, or how many different items we could find for each word.

The hard part would be to find judges and decide how to award points.

I remember driving all over town with my girlfriends looking for stuff. . .how fun!

You're idea of searching for bible verses; I was just thinking it would even be a neat games to play at a get together. Have a group of people work together (ie a table) and go through their personal possessions (ie purses, clothing, things around them, etc) to find the objects of the verse. That might be fun too.
