I will be homeschooling my son for the 3rd year this year.
I feel like it's the best thing for our family and I love the freedom it allows us. Anyone else here homeschool??
What kinds of curriculum do you use?

Yes, Ma'am!

I started homeschooling about 5 years ago, and am currently schooling 3 children, with one more student to join in a few years.

We use curriculum from Veritas Press...classical curriculum with high expectations on students. It has been a wonderful fit for our family, and I am really enjoying it!

I also love the freedom. Technically, we school all year round, so it is no big deal to take breaks when needed, go on field trips, etc. This summer I plan on schooling through the hot afternoon...the kids don't wanna be out there then, so why not use the time?!

We just finished up our first year homeschooling and used the Christian Liberty curriculum. I didn't like it so this year we'll be using A Beka. DD will be in first grade. I am scared to DEATH! lol Such a responsibility yet I believe that it is the right thing to do so I plunge ahead and PRAY! lol We also school year round with breaks for camp meeting, Christmas, my sis' wedding 2 wks ago and anything else that we need to take a break for.

Hello fellow homeschool moms!

We are preparing for our 5th year of homeschooling. We've used Five In a Row all the way through, but this year we will begin Sonlight with our two oldest boys.

We are so thankful for the opportunity to homeschool, as it has been such a blessing to our entire family. It's made us a family of readers, and I'm so thrilled that we all enjoy piling on a bed as Daddy or Mommy reads aloud to the family.

Have a great day, ladies ~

Good morning!
We've been homeschooling for over 10 years now, and my youngest is almost finished, sigh.... I could just cry! Only two more years to go . We initially began with Christian Liberty, and then I began to 'custom' the curriculum around my children's needs and interests by using books from several different publishers (a lot of Abeka, and little Alpha Omega, and others), and that's what worked best for us.
Have a terrific day in Him!

Wow! Glad to know there are so many here! Here's a great quote for any mom who homeschools:

"God does not call the equipped; He equips the called!"

I have a homeschool message board if any of you ladies are interested. The link is in my sig!!

Hi, we are just entering our 13th year of homeschooling. Oh, my, that's hard to believe. We have four boys and the two oldest have graduated. I'll be homeschooling our 16 and 14 yo.

We are ecletic in our curriculum. When I first started out I used all ABeka but now I pick and choose what's best for each child. I have praised God that He put it on our hearts so many years ago to teach our children at home. He has led and been so faithful in raising our boys. I count homeschooling a privilege.

Welcome. With Christ I can do all things. I don't get support in my neck of the woods for homeschooling, I am just surrounded by teachers who feel I am doing my children a disservice not having a set schedule of things.... I am using ABEKA for my 8th grader. The others I am picking what works for them, they all learn so differently. My 2 year old even has her home work, she won't let me off the hook
God bless this generation God is raising up an army uncorrupted children. Praise His Holy Name.
