Hello all,

I stumbled across this site tonight while looking for G.W. Bush blinkies. Couldn't find any - anyone know where I might - that is, in *support* of him! lol

Anyhow, was thrilled at my little rabbit trail because this looks like a great forum! My dh is the pastor of an IFB church here in KY. We are originally from NH.

Don't want to bore you with a lot of details but I am sure glad to be here. I only frequent one other site (not Christian) and it's tiring. I've been a member for years but lately they seem to be getting very antagonistic. It's hard to leave my comfort zone though because I've made a few good friends and we all have one health concern in common (PCOS). But I'd love to find a place for some good christian fellowship - I just hate trying to get over the initial "fitting in" and meeting people, ya know?

Anyhow...I'm going to go poke around the forums now.

Hi, Karen! I'm glad the Lord led you here to us! I'm sure you'll enjoy the fellowship here. We're very non-threatening! I do know what you mean, though, about other forums becoming very unfriendly to Christians. I, too was involved in a forum (freebies) for years, but saw it going downhill. It must be hard, though, to leave that support group that you've had with your health problem. If you don't mind me asking, what is PCOS? I don't recognize the abbreviation.
Well, anyway, welcome to the forum!

Thank you for the info, wildflower. PCOS must be very painful. I have one cyst and I don't enjoy that - can't imagine having multiple ones.

Hello ladies and thanks for the welcome. Wildflower, sorry you share the misery with me

Bethany, I don't know about most PCOSers but I don't have painful ovaries...it's really not the same as having a cyst. It's rather like (this is how my dr explained it) a series of small tiny cysts on the ovaries, similar looking to a string of pearls. It prevents ovulation, causes infertility, insulin problems leading to diabetes, wt gain, certain cancers, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah! lol I get sick of hearing it really I don't feel "broken" except with regards to fertility. It took 5 years to conceive dd with the drs assistance and after another 3.5 years of no pg, we had to go back to the dr to conceive the twins. Since the likelihood of us being able to afford going back again to the dr is not great, we may be done unless God divinely intervenes...

Anyhow, that's enough of a medical lesson for the day Thanks again for your replies!

Well hello fellow users with PCOS. I have had this since I was 11 years old. I am 26 now. It is not really painful until you have a period. (At least that is how most of us are.) Not to get too personal or sappy or anything but more than anything else in this world I would love a baby. I have known since I was 11 that this is not possible. Even more so now because my husband has been "fixed." With my form of PCOS I sometimes have a period for six months straight then I stop for six months straight. I sometimes can not even get up from the pain. It is a horrible thing to have. So fellow PCOS'ers out there I feel for you. May God Bless You All...

Jen
