Hi everyone!
This has been my first year participating in a secret sister ministry let alone the first time I have ever lead this ministry. It has definately had its ups and downs. I am giving our ministry a make-over this year but first we need to have our reveal party. I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on fun things to do at the part such as games, themes, ect. I asked all the participants to bring two handmade gifts to the party, one for their secret sister and one for the sister who had them.
One of the major things I am worried about though is that I've had several people tell me (just recently after I have asked them month after month in our newsletters to tell me) that they have not heard from their secret sister. On top of that, our preacher just retired and several families left with him. I am worried that I will have several women upset when their secret sisters don't come. I tried to give everyone a quilt trip in our newsleter telling them that their sisters were depending on them to be there and they were making something special for them.
Has this happened to anyone else?? Does anyone have any ideas? I am all ears!
I want to say also that this website is so wonderful! I probably would have been lost these past six months with out it. I am very excited though about the future of my ladies ministry. |

I don not know if it is too late but one thing is if you mention to the ladies that are left at your church and say that bring a homemade gift for the lady you have been praying for and one extra, for the one who has been praying for you, and if by chance the ladies that don't get a gift from there sister, than there will be a gift exchange with the ones that did not here from there sister so all leaves with a gift I pray this helps and also makes sense
Enjoy serving our Great and Wonderful God,

We have someone assigned to oversee the Secret Pal(that's what we call ourselves) and that person will reassign the secret pal info to someone else if they decide to leave. It's a sad thing when this happens , but it does happen from time to time. We found that by reassigning the person's info to some one else that the secret pal's can continue without too much interruption. It seems to work out pretty good for us and it keeps people from being disappointed.
We also bring an extra gift to the revealing just in case someone doesn't come for whatever reason, then that secret pal is not disappointed. It never hurts to have extra gifts, just in case...
When you start something like this, you hope that everyone will take there secret pal to heart and do what they are supposed to do, but sadly not evryone does what they should do.

| When we start our secret sister year we have a couple ladies who aren't in the exchange but are willing to take over someone's name if a lady must drop out. They don't receive gifts but they don't mind. We actually have a few ladies who love doing that. We don't really do anything special for the revealing. We have a luncheon and tell who we had. We always have the "master list" at the luncheon so we can tell who had who in case some of the ladies can't make it. |
