Please pray for my son, Caleb. I found a mole with irregular edges on his back. I have made an appt with a dermatologist on June 4th at noon.

He is 15 y/o and took the idea of having it checked out in stride.

Please pray that this will be nothing. Since I had uterine cancer last fall I will admit this has me a little shook up. But, I do know that God proved His faithfulness to us last fall and I have no doubt He'll do the same this time. I just don't want the enemy to gain ground in this area.

Thanks ahead of time!

I will certainly pray for your son, and I hope you will pray for my husband. I found a similar thing on his stomach. What is more disturbing is that he actually agreed that I should get him a doctor appointment. He never lets me take him to the dr. unless he's terribly sick and has been for a while. So I'm fairly concerned.

Yes, Bethany, I will include your husband in my prayers. Please let me know when the Dr's appt is and let's remember to update each other, okay?

I'm so glad you made the appt for your hubby. I'll continue to keep him in prayer. See you back here on the 4th of June with an update.

Thanks for keeping Caleb in prayer. I really appreciate it.

Bethany, I wanted to let you know that the Dr. removed 2 moles off Caleb's back. I can't believe I missed one! He said they were just on the surface and didn't look like cancer. Of course he's having them tested to make sure.

I'm doing a happy dance !

I will continue to keep your DH in prayer and hope to get a good report from you on the 17th.

Thank you for keeping Caleb in prayer. God is so good!

Lou, that's such good news! Praise the Lord! Doctors are pretty good about diagnosing by sight, so I'm sure the reports will come back clean. I'm so happy for Caleb - and you!

Bethany and Lou,

Just want to praise the Lord for the preliminary good report for Caleb and let you know I will keep Bethany's hubby in prayer. My dad is the same way as your husband - no dr. unless really sick. So when my mom called to tell me he was going to the dr. to have a spot looked at on his head I was very concerned (my dad is balding and has an outside job in FL, so skin cancer was a big concern). ANYWAY, he had the spot checked out and all is fine. Will be praying for your husband to have a good report as well.

Bethany, just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you and your dh. I continue to keep him in prayer.

Please update us when you get a chance.

Also, if you read this in time, wanted to give you a heads up on making sure they remove the mole in a way that is covered by insurance. I was talking to a friend who had a doctor burn hers off. Because it was burned off, not cut off, it was considered cosmetic surgery. Suspicious moles should be cut off and tested, then insurance covers it. She didn't know this until it was too late and had to pay out of pocket.

Hope that little tidbit helps!

Thank you, Lou, for that information. I'll be sure to ask about the proper procedure if he has to have anything removed.
Have you gotten back the report on your son's mole yet? I didn't know how long it would take.
Tomorrow is the day for us. We have a whole list of things for the doctor to look at! We're going to get all those problems taken care of that he has refused to go to a doctor for until now!
I'll let you know what happens, and thanks Lou and Jodi for your prayers.

They told me they would call IF anything showed up, but I gave them close to 2 weeks before I called to double check. Call me paranoid, but I've had doctors forget. One was a sun spot, one something they called a 'nevus'. Neither showed any cancer, so he's good to go. The spots are healing very well.

Good idea to have everything checked out while you've got him there. It will probably be nothing, but then you'll have some peace of mind and that's worth alot.

I'll continue keeping your DH in prayer and look forward to hearing from you soon.

That's wonderful news, Lou! Thank the Lord.

My 7 year old son has a nevus, too. He was born with it - on the bridge of his nose, and it grows hairs out of it! Not very attractive, so whenever I cut his hair, I also have to trim the hair on his nose! Someday when he's older and it bothers him, we'll have it removed. Right now he's too scared of it hurting to want to have anything done to it. And since it's not dangerous, I'm not concerned.

Well, good news! The bump I was concerned about wasn't a mole, though I can't remember what she did call it. It was filled with blood that had then clotted, so it changed to a very dark color. Nothing to be concerned about, thank the Lord!
My husband has also been having trouble with his voice - a lot of coughing especially during singing or speaking on the phone. Since much of his work is done on the phone, it's been a real problem for him. The doctor wants him to have a scope done of his vocal cords to see if he has pollops. Hopefully, that's not too expensive, as right now our finances are very tight. But it's important to find out if there's a problem.
So we're thankful that he didn't have a problem mole, but prayerful that his vocal cords will be fine. Thanks so much for your concern and prayers!

Dear Bethany, Praise God for your good report!

Lord Jesus, you know their finances. Please provide for this family in your always perfect way. Give them peace that truly passes all understanding. Lord, we pray for a good report and thank you for the good report they've already gotten. May you be glorified in this situation. May they come out stronger and full of faith. In Jesus name, Amen!

Please keep us updated so that we know how to pray for you.
