I could really use some ideas for a ladies night out with the theme of Circle of Friends. We have a few ideas but feel like we keep getting away from our actual theme. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Sunday Nights after service, we go out for icecream or pie.

Hi,
I attend a Bible college with my husband and here at school I am one of five WMU leaders for the campus. Every year, the week of graduation we have all the senior's wives come to the dining hall for a thing we call senior tea. We honor the women and congratulate them bacause they are moving out into the field of ministy. Anyway one of the last things we do is we all gather in a circle, we sing "circle of friends" and we all are given a candle. The first leader lights her candle with A lighter then lights the one on her left and right then each person light their nighbor's candle until everyone's candle is lite and we keep singing the song over and over. If you start off in the dark and just have the one candle and then watch the darkness disappear with each candle being lite, it makes a good bible story of how the world is in darkness and with each person sharing Jesus the world has more and more light because of Christ. It really is special.

Also you can break the group into small groups of three or four and have them share a short testimony with their group. Give them about 10 minutes to do this then move on with the prograhm. This gets everyone to knowing everyone else and make people closer.

I hope I helped alittle. if youu need anything else feel free to email me. my email is tigger4102000@yahoo.com May God bless your efforts and may you get everything together that is needed. good luck!

Our gals have a night out once a quarter. We almost always have a time of praise and worship singing, then divide into "cottage groups" where a leader has been already assigned and has a list of questions relating to the theme for the small groups to discuss. Then we dismiss for a time of crafts, games, or other activity, and then we always wrap up with food...everyone(not guests) brings food--finger foods unless instructed to do otherwise.

One night we had a "pajama party"...everyone wore their p.j.'s and there were "stations" set up in the school gym with a massage station, make-up, hair, and even a station to paint fingernails and toes...the oldest attendee--age 84 said she'd never experienced a "pajama party" before and had the best time. The evening was even optional for those who wanted to make it a sleepover...all you had to do was bring a sleeping bag and pillow. The 84 year old was the first to sign up and some of the rest of us couldn't keep up with her. What a blessing! Of course, everyone was encouraged to "bring a friend" and there is always a connection to scripture in our discussion groups. It was a wonderful success.

Hope you get a chance to try it.

busymom2,

I am currently in the process of starting up a woman's prayer meeting. I am going to use the book "The Power Of A Praying Wife". At the same time my husband is going to be doing "The Power Of A Praying Husband". We then are going to come together and do "The Power Of A Praying Couple" then "The Power Of A Praying Parent".

I am coordinating our Married Couples Night and this is why I have started this. The prayer meetings could be made more light and fun.

If you are looking for more of a few times a year thing you could have a slumber party!!! That also would be so much fun!

Hope this helps.

God Bless.

Jen
