I am in charge of a mother/daughter banquet on the 22nd. I am usually on top of things but this really snuck up on me. We have the food, favors, decorations, and prizes under control. We are decorating in birdhouses...but I need a theme. Our poor secretary has been promoting it as Mother/Daughter Banquet 2004. I found a game on this site that I will use. I need a theme and another game or skit. I hopefully have a friend singing the song about mothers deserving an armfull of roses but being happy with a handfull of weeds...I need to get on that too. HELP, HELP, HELP...Please

Robin,
We just had our mother daugther banquet on 05/08. We only had a week to come up with everything and believe me you will do just fine. We used the "Reflections of a Lady" theme suggested on this website. We decided to give each of the centerpieces out as a prize. One of the centerpeices that we used was a birdhouse one. To connect them in with our theme we placed them on a platter that resembled a mirror. It was beautiful.
For one of the skits that we did we had two of the teens in our church put one on and it was so adorable. It was about how mothers are with their children and they were basically making fun of them then at the end they asked who they would choose as their mother if they could choose any mom in the world and they both picked their own. It was so sweet. It showed that even though mom's have their bad moments and sometimes you get mad at them you still love them.
Love the weed idea. I think you could even use that as a skit.

shelter...
I never thought of decorating with birdhouses, but I'm sure it will be wonderful! Great idea. |

I just read where someone used birdhouses to decorate and the theme was "Lord, Bless my Nest" I thought that was really cute.
