I'm coordinating a Spring Brunch for our church on May 8 with the theme of "You're a Princess" and focusing on the fact that as children of the King, we are princesses. We have both girls and women attend. I'm looking for some type of ice breaker that a) requires everyone to interact, b) can be started as each guest arrives (i.e., not timed, not a team), and c) has some sort of a "princess" theme. I came across a "Who am I?" ice breaker where the name of a famous person is put on a label and stuck to your back, then you have to go around asking questions to try and figure out the name on your back. A good idea but I can't think of many "princesses" that everyone would know (not just royalty but fictional like Snow White and "divas" like Celine Dion). Guess I'm asking for either an ice breaker idea or "princess" names. Thanks.

We had a similar theme years ago, and also were in question about using the princess theme. But, we did and it worked out very well. We made all the mothers attending, a queen, and all the girls were a princess. We did the names on the back of the people, but it was names of ladies/girls attending our tea. So the nametag would read "Queen Betty" (just an example). Several weeks before the party lots of interviews went on finding out information about everyone. A ballot was prepared, and at the tea they had to match up the items on the ballot with the different queens and princesses. It was fun. We made little crowns for the princesses, and the queens were given one red rose.

The "Who Am I" game worked very well with the company I use to work for. It made us all interact very well together.

What "princess" names have you come up with? Maybe I can help.

Would you believe I just got on here to ask about some ideas for our ladies fellowship and it's "The Kings Daughter" (which of course is a princess) all built around being a "Child of the King".
I was going to ask for some songs that would go along with this
and some game ideas.
Pretty much have the decorations worked out but would love to hear any ideas, and any particular scriptures that come to mind that we can use (we will be putting scriptures on the placemats...so maybe there are some I have missed)
I will accept any advice, and someone is coming to speak about a mission project and give her testimony, but a short devotion would be great if you have one in mind.
Anything????

Thanks for the ideas. I love the "ballot" idea, though too late for my event. I've actually done a couple of word searches made up of women ("princesses") of the Bible. Not the greatest ice breaker, but it will do.

Someone was looking for a Bible verse. I've put John 1:12 in the program, which reads "Yet to all who received him (Christ), to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."

We have a very talented writer at our church who wrote a great skit about what it means to be a princess of God's kingdom at different stages of life (child, teen, young mom, single adult, carreer woman, & senior). Her name is Bev McKinney and her e-mail is: bmckinnehill@yahoo.com

Our speaker is a FABULOUS woman of God and a good friend. She has just recently answered a call to become a speaker. Her testimony is incredible and you can't help but love her. If you're looking for someone her name is Linda Olson and her e-mail is Lindago@juno.com

Blessings to everyone and thanks for the input!

Denise
