Good Morning Ladies:
I need some help with our Ladies Banquet. I am wanting to do the wedding theme but I cant find the stuff for it I cant remember if it was on this sight or not ,but they used wedding dresses,and wedding decorations. They had a fashion show with young girls wearing the older ones dresses again. I need devotion ideas, scritures ,songs and favor ideas. Please help. glen.

I was just looking in scrapbooking aisles of craft stores for little clothing related items, and about all I could find along those lines was wedding-related. Maybe some of those kinds of things could be strewn through the table decorations, in with some ivy or such. Or the holders that brides and bridesmaids carry their flower arranegements in could be used as centerpieces -- is someone there knows how to arrange them, that would help, but having a florist do it could get expensive.

For favors, around here at weddings instead of giving our rice to throw, they pass out little bottles of bubble-stuff to blow, all in white usually, with netting or ribbon or little ribbon roses attached. Maybe you could somehow attach your theme verse to something like that.

One of my favorite old hymns is "The Sands Of Time Are Sinking." It has a few lines that go:

The bride eyes not her garment
But her dear bridegrooms face.
I will not gaze at glory
But on my King of grace,
Not at the crown he giveth,
But on His pierced hand.
The Lamb is all the glory
In Immanuel's land.

If you have a concordance, looking up verses with "bride" or "wedding" will give you plenty to chose from. Here are a few:

Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Isa 62:5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

Re 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Re 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Re 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Re 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Years ago we did an "Always a Bride" theme at our church. We used children from our church and had a "mock" wedding. It was great! We went to a local bridal shop where they fitted the complete bridal party with dresses and tuxedos free of charge. Even included the mothers of the bride. It was awesome and even made the local paper!

Sorry can't remember any of the decorations or other ideas we used but I will never forget that wedding!

Well It is Over

We Had our Ladies Banquet , had around 40 people there. It was [GREAT] tHE LADIES BROUGHT THIER WEDDING GOWNS AND BOUQUETS, NAPKINS WITH THEIR NAMES AND DATES, WINE GLASSES,
GARTERS,PICTURES,PHOTO ALBUMS,. tHE WHOLE THING WAS POINTING TO OUR PREPERATIONS FOR THE BIG DAY!! MEETING OUR WEDDING GROOM (JESUS). tHE SONG THAT WAS SONG WAS "I JUST WANT TO PLEASE THE LORD, DEVOTIONAL WAS GREAT, PLAYED THE GAME WHERE YOU SCORE YOURSELF IF YOU HAVE PINK ON OR SUBTRACT IF YOU HAVE A SAFTY PIN, POINTS FOR CHILDREN , IF YOU KISSED YOUR HUSBAND BYE, SUBTRACT POINTS IF YOU LEFT DIRTY DISHES IN THE SINK, ETC. THE FOOD WAS ALSO VERY GOOD, WE HAD A WEDDING CAKE FOR DESSERT. IT WAS GOOOOD!!!!!! THOUGHT I'D LET YOU KNOW.

NOW WHAT IS EVERYONE DOING FOR FATHERS DAY????
