Hello,
I just joined this site tonight and I just could not wait to share this PRAISE with everyone. Almost six years ago my husband and I had our firstborn child. A beautiful baby girl. Several hours after her birth we found out that she had heart disease. How could this be??? We have the best facility here locally, Texas Children's Hospital. She was rushed immediately after her diagnosis was made. At only one day old she had a heart catheterization that gave the Dr's all the imformation. She had 8 different defects in her heart. We felt devastated!!!! The Dr's did not give us a whole lot of good news only the bad. See, the combinations of defects that she has is very rare and they really never gave us much hope for a great future. Transplant was never an option either because her defects were in a part of her lungs as well. To make this very long story short, over the last (almost) six years, our daughter has had 3 heart surgeries and about 8 caths and PRAISE GOD, there is a bright future ahead of her. There has been many ups and downs and hard trying times we have had to face , but God has answered our prayers and has performed NUMEROUS miracles in our daughter's life. I might even add that what we thought was just another horrible defect in her heart, turned out to be a MIRACLE as well. I say this because without one of those defects she would have never survived. Miracles can come in disguise and you may never even realize it until later looking back!!!! Our daughter is playing soccer, dancing, running, as active as any other child her age. What a blessing. Are there more surgeries in the future? Yes, she may need to have some surgery later on, maybe in her young teen years, but nothing scheduled for the near future. I might also add that she has a VERY deformed mitral valve, But again, PRAISE GOD for the miracles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so glad to be able to share this with you. What a wonderful web site this is. I hope that if you are struggling with something in your life that you will remember that with GOD, ALL things are possible!!!!!

ShannyBo, Thanks for the uplifting praise report. I agree with your comment that sometimes miracles do come in disguise. I think we blame the enemy at times when actually it is God allowing things to happen so that His glory will be revealed. I pray that your little girl will have a very healthy and happy life. As the poem says "It's in the valleys we grow." I know going thru all you have has made you and your family more capable to understand and minister to others in situations similiar to this. God is good all the time!!!!!!!! _________________ I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me!!!! Sylvia |
