| I was wondering if someone who had done the adoptee program in the past at their banquets could tell me more about how they did it. I would love to do something like this at our banquet since we have several mothers/daughters that are either widowed or their families don't live near them and in the past they have not felt comfortable coming....I think something like this would really encourage more of our women to come. My only questions are how to go about doing it. How do you pair women up, when do I do it, should they know before the banquet who they are with, ect? I thank you all in advance for all your help with this |

Why not ask other woman if they would like to adopt and who? In our church a lot of us are close. We are having a Mother/Daugther Banquet this Friday. I live in Wisconsin and my mom is in California. My mom and I are best friends and I miss her terribly. Because this was bothering me so much and I am one of the planners of this event other woman in my church has offered to adopt me as a daugther. One of the elderly woman in our church has NO family at all. We all have adopted her.
I just would suggest that if you suggest this to some of the woman who have familes let they might say well I am close to so and so, I will adopt them. Then have aproach the adoptee and see how they feel about this idea. Make it offical at the banquet.
Just some of my ideas, I hope that this might help.
Good Lock & God Bless! |

| My family is in California and I am in Florida. My best friend's church always had a "Mother/Daughter/Friend" banquet at mothers day. I loved attending with them. Especially before I had kids. It was a way for me to celebrate mother's day with people that I cared about without feeling like a tag a long. |
