I am doing a Mother's Day event. I thought I would do a dinner and the theme is:
"Princess of the King"
I am going to use the colors gold, purple, and pink.
I want every Mom to feel extra special on this day because this maybe the only day of the year that anyone takes the time to make them feel special.
Everyone will get a bag of goodies.
I found memo pads that say "Princess of the King" ,a pen, hand lotion, ,candy, and a candle.( Still looking for more items.)
Does anyone have any ideas on what else I should do and table centerpieces.
I really want them to feel like a PRINCESS!! _________________ God Bless You,

What an awesome idea
Our group hasn't done a lot with Mother's Day since I have been involved. We do some traditional things like hand out carnations on Mom's Day but the last couple of years we took that money and donated to the crisis pregnancy resource center in honor of our Moms.

| good idea going! One of my favorite is to get square mirrors (12x12). Can get at any Home Depot, Lowes ect. Put in the middle of the table. Then a small round clear globe or bowl. Fill with water. Use floating candles. Then the rest of the table I use Tulle and beads to make a floaty wimsy theme. Top that off with confetti. It looks awesome. You could use anything for your centerpiece. I like the mirrored look. Have Fun!! Sherri |

My mom's church did that theme last year. I believe there centerpieces were purple pillows (like a throw pillow that the ladies made) out of silky fabric and they set a face crown on top with some beads drapped on them. The beaded necklaces were gold and purple from a party shop. Very inexpensive and all the little girls got some to wear. The stage was a purple backdrop with a wing back chair and pillow (no thrones to be found) and a few other items sitting around.
I think this theme can be very significant!! Knowing that each one there who is a Christian is daughter and princess of the King is awesome! There are times in my life when that is the one thing that made me feel....significant. Making each lady know they are significant and important to Christ is so important.
I'd say get some door prizes! Put someone in charge of going to local businesses and asking them for donations for your event. We put each companies contact info in our program. We are also going to the ladies in our church that have there own home based businesses and asking them to contribute! We've gotten great items...gift cerificates to restaurants, baskets of make-up from our Mary Kay girls, candles, stationary, and even a dvd player from one company. It's amazing how willing people are to help! The ladies love the door prizes! I've also got one gift wrapped on each table to be won by someone at the table near the end of the brunch time. I've been getting books that have to do with the theme.
God Bless you as you plan!

Something we have done at our church that looks awesome, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg (for centerpieces) is to fill a container, about a pint sized one with a length of crumpled up colored saran wrap, fill it with water and place a floating candle on top. Going along with the previous idea of a square of mirror.....this placed on the mirrored square would be beautiful, reflecting back the candle light and the colors of the saran wrap. When the saran wrap is in the water with the candle, it has the appearance of the jelled candles or even jello!! It truly is a pretty site.. _________________ "Be still and know that I am God"....Psalms 46:10 |
