| My grandparnts are going to be having their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005. I an planning a low bugdet surprise gathering for them and need ideas. My granfather was in the Navy and my grandmother is a retired school teacher. My grandfather is a deacon in our church so I am looking for things to admonish them in a biblical way. Family from both sides will be there as well as friends and the other church members. Please help in amy way possible. My husband and I are both full time college students at a bible college and we don't have a lot of money so low budget idea would help alot. thanks |

| WOW!!! The possibilities are endless with this one. One thing to do its have everyone invited (if sending out invitations) add a 3x5 notecard with it asking them to write down a favorite memory they have of your gandparents, or a Bible verse or something they just want to share with just them Add these in a photo album and present this as there gift. Also, you could have a *decade fashion show* starting from the year they were married to present day. Add a *fashion show-esque* stage presence, letting them walk a *cat walk* with a monologe accompaning them. Use pictures from there past (maybe your parents have something??) and put these together as a slide show. Look in 1st Timothy, Titus, Proverbs,Ephesians, and of course 1 Corinthians 13. Also, you could write a story of they're life in a Once Upon a Time format, making it very fairy tale-ish and sweet. Use his Navy uniform, maybe any letters he wrote her while he was away on duty??? things like that. Do you have access to her wedding dress? That could be a decoration of sorts. Make a scarp book for them starting with whoever is older0him or her with a baby pic, maybe pics of his siblings, his family, parents, then moving to the other and move it through the years to when they met, then ending with the grandchilren and so on. Play there favorite songs, tell the story of how they met. Play a newly wed type game with just the two of them. Just go with it. Making it as personal as you want to along the way. How fun!!! I hope I have helped you a little... |
