I need some advice from some of you ladies who have been there and may give me some insight on what to do...
My husband and I are both fairly young and he was called in to the ministry while still in High School...however, he fulfilled the position as Youth Pastor (in his home church) when he was 20. He is now 22 and while things didn't start out this bad, things have gotten worse. He is beginning to dread "church stuff" because he is unappreciated. Everytime he lets it slip out to me, he immediatly feels guilty that he has said it, because he isn't doing it to be noticed, but I understand that EVERYONE wants to feel appreciated at some point or another. He does so much stuff that is behind the scenes at that church, but somtimes those things are the most important to help keep things running smoothly. (everything from leading worship and preaching on wed. nights to youth, to power point, to helping the music minister w/ the worship services to playing the guitar on Sun. AM and PM and being a typical YP...the list could go on and on) People don't refer to him as the Youth pastor nor do they come anywhere close, the kids are disrespectful and he just doesn't enjoy it anymore. I know his heart and I also know that if something doesn't happen soon we may be leaving and it may not be God's will. I just see how depressed and down he has been lately. I am just looking for anyone who can help me in letting me know what I should do. Tried being supportive and I know it helps a little, but I am not the person who doesn't appreciate him. Any advice would be helpful!

Maybe he could read through I & II Timothy. Timothy was a young pastor who suffered disrespect, and Paul gave him advice that would be a great help to your husband. And I think now is the time that he needs to spend more and more time with the Lord. It should help him regain his focus on what's truly important. What he's going through isn't eternal, though it may feel like it right now! When your cirumstances aren't what you like, you can't change the circumstances, but you can change your response to them.
Suggest to your husband that he read the books of Timothy, and PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for him.
I'm no expert about these things, but I do know that God's word doesn't return void, and time spent in it will always be worthwhile.
Praying now for you...
