| My response is the same as Bethany's -- no ideas, but I'd love to come to something like that! |

We did something along these lines and it was great. We actually had a sleep-over at the home of one of the ladies. We watched the Anne of Green Gables movies, ordered pizza and ate other snacks that the ladies brought. She also had a swimming pool so some of us went for a swim at midnight. It was great fun.
I guess to work the pampering in there you could bring your nail/spa supplies and everyone sit around and do their nails while you fellowship. The alternative would be to bring in professionals who could provide spa services??
Sounds like you will have a great time! _________________ Jodi

Here's one idea: I just came from Bath & Body Works and today is the last day of their big January sales. They have their SPA products on sale for quite cheap. You can get a big jar of facial mask or mud, or salt scrub, tubes of foot cream or scrub, all kinds of different spa- like stuff. I was thinking those big jars of facial mud could do a lot of ladies faces! Maybe give each other facials and foot treatments?
I do know that today is the last day of their sale, though, so if you want it you'd better hurry!
Have fun, it sounds like a blast! _________________ God bless,

I did "A Day at the Spa" last year for Mother's day. I had to charge $35.00 per person because I hired professional people to come and and do the services. We had manicure/pedicure/facials/hair styling/and to top it all off you got a 15-20 minute full body massage. Plus i also provided lunch.
I got gift bags and I filled them with a bottle of water,a bag of chips, fruit, a few choc, and a sandwich which I made Turkey or Ham they got to choose their sandwich when they signed up. I used crossiants, american, and swiss cheese then I put it in a ziploc bag. Then I put lettuce, tom, and a pickle in a snack size ziploc. (that way it wouldn't make the sandwiches wet) I bought the silverware packs that came with salt/pepper and a napkin. After everything was put in there I filled the bags with tissue paper. The woman LOVED IT! At the door on a table I had a bowl of strawberries and sparkling apple cider. We also had a table were you made your own bath salts. That was cheap ( I talked to Bel Air the local grogery store and they donated the white coffee bags) I have the recipe if anyone wants it. The 35.00 per person paid for everything. I wasn't doing it for a fundraiser at all. So with the money left over I went to Bath and Body and bought gifts and every half hour we had a drawing. I went to Sally's beauty supple and got the cute little toe things that separate your toes when they are painted and gave them to all the ladies as well I think they were .20 a piece. We had just an awesome day! For the facials I hired a mary Kay consultant and she did skin care and then they all got to apply make-up. All the women just had a relaxed day and enjoy all the fellowship!! |

We just had a spa night the beginning of this month & it was a huge success. We had several different areas set up around the church for the ladies to visit. I used the colors purple & white and had lots of greenery & candles around. Also had some very soothing background music. I asked each of the ladies to bring a healthy snack or ingredients for fruit smoothies (to share). Our areas were: smoothie bar, make your own spa products (I had copies of the recipes for the ladies to take home), rest & relaxation area (we used outdoor lounge chairs, laid towels on them and the ladies could go lay down and place cold cucumber slices on their eyes); we also had footbaths set up, a Mary Kay rep came and we did a "lips & tips" (exfoliated our lips and hands) and we had an area set up where they could go spend some quiet time with God. Some of the ladies brought those neck rolls that you pop in the microwave. There was no charge for this and everyone wants to do it again (soon). For favors I found these little washtubs at Kmart that had a mini body wash, lotion and bath scrubbie in them; that were on sale and I had gotten some ladies that sold different bath & beauty products to donate samples. Since the ladies helped bringing items and the food the evening ended up costing us only about $50.00 and we took that out of our ladies ministry fund.
Hope this helps,
Blessings,
Dolly
