I am in need of some of help. I have been doing WM for 2 years now and I pretty much have always been the one to do and arrange things but we have grown so much that I can't continue to be the one who always does everything because it takes me away from the things that need to be done and it also takes me away from ministering to the women. So I am going to have a meeting this week with several of the women who have shared an interest in the WM to set up different types of teams. (like hospitality, etc...)
Can some of you share with me the different types of ministries that you have under your WM. This way I have people to help me and I am not the only one doing everything. I like to be very personnel with all the ladies who sit under my ministry, and I love to encourage them and I think once I have it more organized so that I am not the one doing everything I will have the time to give them. |

I want to first state...that our church is not a model for women's ministry. I can share a few areas that I am currently trying to get the women involved in. You asked about different catagories, ie hospitality, so I thought I'd let you know a few of the catagories that I am currently trying to find willing hands for. We are going to have a monthly women's night out, Spring Tea, a Recipe Exchange in the Fall, Women's Retreat, a quarterly "Mug & Muffins" Fellowship. I am also gathering info and trying to spear head a particular mission org. that the women can contribute to. My husband also asked if I could get a committee together that would be willing to prepare the occasional luncheons for the whole church (approx. 125)...(I've got 2 committments so far )
I don't know if this helps or not. I just noticed that no one had replied...and I'm hoping that this will spur you on.

My partner in WM and I did everything for the first year and a half of our Ladies Night Out. For about two years we have had a decorating diva to help us with themes and making tables look nice.
We had a food gal for awhile but she drifted off. Last year a woman with a love for cooking stepped up and accepted the meal preperation responsibility. She has since developed a small team of willing hands to work with her in the kitchen and to help with her clean up.
Both of these gals were developed slowly with training and encouragement. And then finally we just asked them to take a position of leadership in that area.
When we have a guest speaker, I usually take care of helps while my partner handles the hosting. If the speaker is local, we might flip responsibilities a bit. But we are praying for a woman to take on the helps area and build a team of those who can tear down and clean up after all of the other women have left.
She'll come to our attention soon I pray!
