I have decorated weddings for years..
I will tell u the memories are in the little things.... something the reception guest can take home... a program with your wedding pic on it, bubbles? play music preferably cd in a corner out of the way soft elegant piano music. Place a disposable camera on each table, you then develop the camera and keep one copy while sending a duplicate to each person photographed. the easiest thing to do would be to set a platter with a little bit of this and that at each table, a vegi tray with a few finger sandwiches, offering punch or champagne on a table neaar the wedding cake, with peanuts and butter mints, set the punch bowl inside a pin wreath and add scarps of flowers and ribbons to coordinate to your wedding decor.
For best pics use skirts on your tables even if they are disposable plastic ones and use as much candlelight as u can even if u have to fake it with small white christmas lights, rather than all the over head lights.
I would suggest small finger sandwiches, cucumber and watercress( and old standby very classic)
You can slice the bread half the thickness it is purchased at with a serated knife, and rather than serve them in triangles try serving them in thin narrow slices like fingers, you can easily arrange them on romaine lettuce or a ruffled green on the edges of the plate, garnish them with a decorative toothpick, have just a tray with rolled cold cuts again toothpick them, cheese cubes, and black and green olives, seeded tomatoes sliced thin, carrot sticks celery etc,
You could always prepare egg drop soup, or serve a cajun gumbo by the cup, _________________ Jeremiah 33:3 ... call unto me and I will answer thee and show you great and mighty things which thou knowest not... |

HeeHee...were you at my wedding shellshell?
Since it was right before Christmas we had little silver bells for the guests to take home and hang on their tree...(my colors were black and silver). There were tables placed all around with little finger foods and veg. trays, (like the ladies on here helped me with) and rolled cold cuts...and the hall was lit only with the twinkling lights wrapped in tulle and the candles on each table. It was beautiful. I got nice pictures, and we did use the skirts around the tables. It was just beautiful and all God's people worked together to make it so special.
Thanks for all your thoughts. You are very special ladies!
