Hi Music,
Noticed you are in Orlando, Fl - me too, actually Lake Mary.
Never done a Progressive Dinner but the cookie exhanges I have seen work like this.
Each lady brings a batch of cookies to the party. You have the party in whatever format you choose (munching on cookies of course ), then each lady takes home a variety of all the cookies that were brought.
Have fun! _________________ Jodi

Expanding on the cookie exchange.
My mom's friend has done one every year since the beginning of time (yes, slight exaggeration there).
She asks them to make 7 to 10 dozen cookies apiece.
Depending on how many ladies show up, she calculates how many of each type of cookie you can take so you leave with as many cookies as you came with....
Come with 7 doz. of the same cookie and leave with a variety of 7 dozen cookies.
Get it?
Progressive dinner.
We would have 4 or 5 volunteers at five homes. We would offer carpooling options and meet at the "dessert and coffee home". This was our starting and ending point.
At the start, we leave together for the first house and the appetizer (#1). From there, we head to the salad house (#2). After that, we go to the main course house (and sometimes they would serve side dishes, other times we'd head to a new house for sides...#3 and optional #4). Then back to our starting point for dessert and coffee (#5). The menu would be planned in advance and each house is responsible for providing their portion of the meal.
Whoever organizes this is responsible for invites and RSVP's so the meal-making homes have an idea of how much to cook.
We do not include small children.
Hope that might have helped somewhat. _________________ Colossians 1:27 ...."Christ in you, the hope of glory." |
