I am thinking of doing something a little different at our Jan meeting. I am leaning toward somehow allowing the ladies (who are willing) to give maybe a verse that really stands out to them a lot of times and maybe why. But I want it to be structured and not allow the time to be a waste etc. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to help in this area?

That's a great idea! It's smart of you to think about keeping it structured beforehand. We did something similar this summer and it took a long time to get through. Some ladies just love to talk!

My suggestion would be to let them know before hand and have them submit their verse to you and maybe you could place them in order before the meeting. This way you can put the verses of similar meaning together. Then if you want the ladies to comment on their verse, just tell them ahead of time to keep it under 3 minutes or whatever time you think is appropriate. People will be scrambling around for verses during your meeting while others are talking if they don't know ahead of time and they aren't prepared, then some will go on for a long time too

Thank you for your suggestion...I am going to use it. With 40+ ladies at our meetings it would get out of control. I think I will pick just 5 or 6 ladies to speak for 3 min. or so. I hope it will be a blessing. It is really a challenge to find speakers for our meetings so any ideas are great. THANK YOU!
