| Our church just started, in the last year, a prayer quilt ministry. We make lap quilts for ladies who may be going through a rough time in their lives or mabey just need some encouragment. We just hand out 6 - 8 quilt pieces to different ladies to personalize how ever they see fit. Some people write out Bible verses or just iron on a pretty picture for whoever may be reveiving the quilt. After we get all the pieces back we sew it together and deliver it. We have made over 11 quilts in the past 6 months. It has really ment alot to the ladies who have received them and also lets them know that they are loved and prayed for on a daily basis. It is amazing how a little time making a quilt for someone hurting can put a smile back on their face. |

This sounds like a good idea for our nursing home ministry. Our precious people could know we love them and our prayers are with them every time they look at their lap. Thanks for the idea. _________________ I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me!!!! Sylvia |

How big is a lap quilt?
Did you have to teach the ladies to do this or did they already know how?
How do you teach a class on this?
Sounds like a neat ministry. |
