Lighthouse Favor

I came up with these lighthouses by just playing around with different size wooden thread craft spools. Every one that I made turned out a little different so I suggest buying different sizes of spools and playing around with them to get the effect you want.

Supplies Needed:

Wooden Thread Spools of varying sizes
(check your local craft stores for variety packs that have different sizes)

Wooden plugs of varying sizes
(found in your local craft stores)

Craft paint (colors of your choice)

Glue Gun or Tacky Glue>

Directions:

1. Stack two or three thread spools of the same size on top of each other and glue together. If you use the glue gun, don't put too much glue on them because you don't want any "space" between the layers of your lighthouse.

2. Place a smaller size thread spool on top and a wooden cap over the spool hole in the middle and glue together.

3. Paint as a lighthouse. I recommend basecoating with a white or an off shade of white, and then painting stripes or lines around the lighthouses adding as much detail as you want. Depending on the size you make, you could tie a white lifesaver candy around them with a string.

4. You can finish off with a coat of polyurinthane if you wish.

5. Don't forget a hang tag with your event information.
