Christmas Family Fun

Welcome! I hope that you will enjoy your time here.
I *love* Christmas as you'll be able to tell.
Just wander around all you want. If you get cold,
just warm up to some Christmas ideas and activities.

Family Activities:

Doing things as a family or with your kids to get ready for Christmas is a wonderful way to make some great memories. Some of the things you can do as a family are:

1.    Read the Christmas story to your kids.

2.   Decorate for the holidays together. Make a ritual out of it such as make hot chocolate and cookies to share together. Put on some Christmas music and just have fun together.

3.   String Popcorn or some type of garland together.

4.   Take a drive to see Christmas lights.

5.    Volunteer as a family to work in a local charity such as a soup kitchen, etc. It will teach your children the joy of giving.

6.   Make Christmas ornaments together. Make it something everyone can get involved in. It's not fun for the kids if all they get to do is watch.

7.   Pick out your tree together if you use a real tree.

8.   Make Christmas cookies and decorate them together.

9.    Make a gingerbread house together.

10.    Do something for a needy family, shut in, or elderly together as a family.

11.   Go see a Christmas play, cantata or even a live nativity scene together.

12.    Go caroling as a family.

13.    Sing some Christmas carols together. There's no excuse for not having the words to them anymore as you'll easily find most of them throughout the internet.

14.    Make Christmas candy or fudge together. This will depend on the age of your kids as to how much they can be involved but you can let them sprinkle on nuts or do small things to help.

15.    Have a family portrait done for a Christmas card or to mail along with your cards.

16.    Address the Christmas cards together. It depends on the age of your kids if they can help with writing them, but you can let the younger ones color pictures and make notes to tuck in for relatives.

17.    Make home-made Christmas cards.

18.    Make a countdown calendar of some type.

19.    Make home-made wrapping paper together. You can use brown craft paper and let the kids decorate it with crayons, markers and stickers.

20.    Make a Christmas village together. Use child size milk cartons or any type of cardboard boxes. Paint and decorate for a fun display.
